What better way to show your love than a homemade gift? These truffles are so easy and cheap to make, and you can customise to your hearts content with different coatings and flavours. Make these for anyone you care about friends, family, partners or just yourself!
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 5 hours setting time in the fridge
Serves: Makes approx. 40 truffles
200ml double cream
100g milk chocolate
175g dark chocolate
5 tsps hazelnut Syrup
1 Tsp salt
Suggestions of some things to decorate with:
Dried crushed fruit
Start by placing a bowl over a pan of simmering water, making sure that the bowl doesn’t touch the water.
Chop up the chocolate and put all the ingredients into the bowl. Stir slowly until everything has melted.
If you’re using a mould, use a teaspoon to scoop the truffle mixture into each hole. You may want to put some decoration on the bottom at this point. Put the mould in the fridge for at least 5 hours to give the truffles time to set.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a mould. Instead, put your mix straight into the fridge for 5 hours. Once the mixture has set, use a teaspoon and roll spoonfuls of the mixture into balls.
Now you can decorate to your heart’s content. Put your coating onto a plate and roll your truffles around in it until completely covered. Or, even easier, simply sieve cocoa powder over the top.
Put the truffles back in the fridge until you’re ready to give them to your partner, parents, friends or yourself!
